Melmoss Brook - "Brook"

Brook was my first dog, a powerful black Labrador from my granddads line. To say he was difficult to train was an understatement and headstrong is probably the word I’d use to describe him. He constantly wanted to do things ‘his way’ rather than be taught by me, but with a lot of perseverance I got him to the standard I wanted.

He was by my side whilst out stalking, sitting in gutters waiting for geese and on the peg shooting driven pheasant. He pushed my patience at times, but he always found that bird other dogs couldn’t.

Sadly I had Brook put to sleep two months before his 15th birthday. RIP Old boy, until we hunt again.
