Waynnson Rosie of Amberquest - "Amber"

Amber came from our friend Kevin McDermott at Waynnson Gundogs. Whilst at university in Newcastle, Kevin gave me the opportunity to go out shooting and I was impressed with his dogs. The chance of a golden cocker bitch pup came up and she was named Amber.

Amber was a joy to train in comparison to my first dog Brook. She was responsive, wanted to be with you all the time and never tried to push the boundaries. She was my first spaniel and by my own admission I trained her too much like a Labrador and knocked the drive out of her. She’s an excellent beating dog as well as having the rare cocker trait of being able to sit silently in a hide all day long when shooting pigeons.

She converted both Sarah and myself to cockers and gave us an insight into what we needed to do to be able to work towards entering Field Trials.
